Elements of Competency Performance Criteria              
Element: Prepare for on-the-job training
  • Need for training is identified based on operational requirements and procedures
       
Element: Specific training needs are identified through discussion with learner to organise training sessions
       
Element: Necessary equipment or physical resources required for training are identified and prepared
       
Element: Train learner on-the-job
  • Overall purpose and process of the training is explained to learner
       
Element: Specific skills are explained and demonstrated according to procedures and organisational requirements
       
Element: Communication skills are used to provide information, instruct learners, demonstrate relevant work skills and check learner understanding
       
Element: Learner is provided with opportunity to practise skill and ask questions

Assessment Tasks

Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
